Indian company buys Sony Online

India’s Zapak Digital Entertainment group has bought Sony Online Entertainment, a division of Sony Corp, for around US$300 million.

Zapak company officials say the deal will give Zapak full rights to all content, owned and published by Sony Online.

Sony Online, which has developed popular games like Everquest and Vanguard, has also announced a tie-up with Bangalore-based Virgin Comics and will launch a multimedia online game based on the Hindu epic Ramayana.
