Joshna finishes runner-up in NSC Star Series
Uzbekistan News.Net Wednesday 26th March, 2008 (IANS)
Joshna Chinappa's dreams of winning her maiden Women's International Squash Players Association (WISPA) title came crashing down as she lost to top seed Jaclyn Hawkes of New Zealand in the final of the NSC Star Series squash tournament here Wednesday.
The reigning national champion went down 1-9 2-9 8-10 in 30-minutes. Joshna had lost in the finals of Vietnam Open a fortnight ago.
Sixth seeded Joshna could not match her opponent in the first two games but made an attempt to comeback in the third game. Hawkes stood solid and thwarted the fight back to clinch her second WISPA title in three years.
