China won’t feel economic squeeze after Olympics

Uzbekistan News.Net
Wednesday 26th March, 2008

Because of its vast size, China's economy will avoid a post-Olympics recession.

Economic analysts say rising consumer spending and a big appetite for investment will help China maintain sustained economic growth for a long time to come.

World Bank economists agree that the Chinese economy's sheer size will dwarf the cost of building stadiums and infrastructure for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

China's economy, the world's fourth biggest, was 16 times the size of Greece's, which hosted the 2004 Games, and eight times the size of Australia's, which hosted the 2000 Games.
