UK hotels need to clean up their act

British hotel employees are in need of a morale boost, according to UK tourism chiefs.
A survey has shown that foreign visitors to Britain are being deterred by grouchy staff and poor value in hotels, restaurants and shops.
With the fall in the value of sterling against the euro and US dollar making Britain a more attractive holiday spot, a failure to provide basic services such as soft towels and fresh bars of soap has also been cited as a tourist turn-off.
Earlier this week, UK consumer magazine 'Which' published the findings of an undercover investigation which found stained, lice-ridden, mouldy mattresses and filthy toilets.  Email this story to a friend
