Equities in Asia close the week mixed

The biggest loser on the day was the Australian All Ordinaries which fell 1.28%.
Stocks in Asia finished the day mixed Friday.

Investors remain divided about optimistic prospects for regional economies, but concerned at the overall outlook for the global economy.

A strenghtening of the U.S. dollar Friday weighed on import-related stocks.

At the end of the day the Nikkei 225 in Tokyo, Japan, gave up .54% of its value.

The Singapore Straits Times was little changed, edging out a .10% gain.

China's Shanghai Composite was down 0.37% Friday. The neighboring Hong Kong bourse, the Hang Seng, gave up 0.83%.

In India the atmosphere was brighter with the BSE 30 advancing 1.41%.

The Taiwan Weighted was down 0.99%, while the biggest loser on the day was the Australian All Ordinaries which fell 1.28%.

Indonesia's Jakarta Composite was up 0.75%.

In Malaysia the KLSE Composite also gained. It finished up 0.37%.

In New Zealand the NZSE 50 dropped 0.88%.
