GAZA -- Israeli warplanes at the dawn of Wednesday attacked military sites belonging to Hamas and the Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip, in response to rockets fired from the coastal enclave into Israeli towns, Palestinian security sources reported.

ROME -- A huge blaze broke out in the northeastern Italian port city of Ancona early Wednesday morning, local media reported.

TALUQAN, Afghanistan -- Two people were killed and 12 others sustained injury as a blast rocked Kalafgan district in the northern Takhar province on Tuesday, police spokesman in the restive province Abdul Khalil Asir said Wednesday.
