PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia downed two drones belonging to the Azerbaijani military on Saturday, October 17 night, Defense Ministry spokeswoman Shushan Stepanyan said.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry revealed that Azeri UAVs had been flying above the communities of Khnatsakh, Artsvanik, Davit Bek in the southern Syunik province.
The drones struck in the direction of the Armenian army infrastructure, damaging civilian infrastructure too, the Foreign Ministry added.
No casualties have been reported.
Armenia also denied Baku's accusations of opening fire towards Azerbaijan.
Stepanyan said 'no fire has been opened from the territory of Armenia or by the Armenian Armed Forces.'
Azerbaijan earlier fired multiple rockets on Stepanakert, Nagorno-Karabakh's capital, and other settlements, injuring one civilian.
Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and Syrian and Libyan mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.
