HOHHOT, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- One new asymptomatic COVID-19 case was reported in the border city of Manzhouli in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the regional health commission said on Sunday.
The new case, reported between 7 a.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday, was a close contact of a previously confirmed case in the city, the commission said.
As of 7 a.m. Sunday, Manzhouli had reported a total of 11 locally transmitted confirmed cases, two asymptomatic cases and two suspected cases, all quarantined for treatment at a designated hospital in the city. Their 886 close contacts have been placed under medical observation, according to the commission.
Epidemiological surveys and source tracing work regarding the cases are underway.
Manzhouli had completed citywide nucleic acid testing for 203,326 people by Tuesday, and the second round of tests began on Friday.
The region currently has six imported COVID-19 cases.
