KABUL, April 6 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan has registered 94 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of patients infected with the disease to 56,873 in the country, the Ministry of Public Health said on Tuesday.
"Laboratories conducted 2,372 tests during the past 24 hours, out of the total tests 94 were positive COVID-19 cases in 11 out of Afghanistan's 34 provinces" the ministry said in a statement.
Meanwhile, 25 patients have recovered and two patients died over the period, the statement added.
Labs across the conflict-stricken country have completed over 358,885 tests since outbreak of the pandemic in Afghanistan in February 2020.
