KABUL, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan reported 16 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Saturday, raising its national tally to 57,160, including 2,677 active cases, the country's Ministry of Public Health said.

"Laboratories conducted 1,292 tests during the past 24 hours, out of the total tests 16 were positive COVID-19 cases in five provinces of Afghanistan's 34 provinces," the ministry said in a statement.

Meanwhile, no patient recovered while no deaths were reported during the cited period and the death toll stands at two, according to the statement.

Laboratories across Afghanistan have completed over 367,000 tests since the outbreak of the pandemic in February last year.
