KABUL -- Fighting in Afghanistan has continued with heavy casualties reported since Monday amid repeated calls for observance of cease-fire in Muslims' fasting month of holy Ramadan.

HONG KONG -- The British side has breached its promises and shown pure hypocrisy in manipulating the issue of the British National Overseas (BNO) passport, the Office of the Commissioner of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) said Tuesday.
The British government announced recently a 43-million-British-pound (59-million-U.S. dollar) package to facilitate employment and settlement of Hong Kong BNO status holders in Britain. (HK-BNO)

JAKARTA -- The death toll from the tropical cyclone Seroja that recently hit Indonesia's province of East Nusa Tenggara was revised to 178 with 47 people still missing, according to the latest official data.
