HONG KONG -- The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government Thursday firmly opposed the unfounded accusations made by the European Union (EU) to the Decision on Improving the Electoral System of the HKSAR passed by the National People's Congress (NPC).

KABUL -- A batch of COVID-19 vaccines donated by the Chinese government arrived in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan on Thursday.
The shipment of Sinopharm vaccines are the first Chinese donation of the COVID-19 vaccine Afghanistan has received.
Afghanistan has administered about 1 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine as of early May, largely to frontline healthcare workers, security forces members, journalists, and teachers. (Afghanistan-China-Vaccine)

NEW DELHI -- Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Thursday that his government was increasing oxygen storage capacity in the Indian capital so that there is no shortage of oxygen in case of a possible third wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
Kejriwal said three oxygen storage plants with a total capacity of 171 MT have been installed so far in the city to prepare for a possible third wave of COVID-19. (India-COVID-19-Oxygen)

DHAKA -- Remittances are skyrocketing to cushion Bangladesh's merchandise trade deficit which widened to 17.23 billion U.S. dollars in the first 10 months of the current 2020-21 fiscal year.
In the July 2020-April 2021 period, the trade deficit was over 21 percent higher than in the same period of the previous fiscal year 2019-20, the latest Bangladesh Bank (BB) data showed.
