PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, speaking at the European Political Community summit launched in Yerevan, addressed the participation of Azerbaijan and Turkey, emphasizing its historic significance. He stated that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, although in a remote format, took part for the first time in an event held in Armenia.
"But we hope that I will have the opportunity to visit Azerbaijan in 2028, when the European Political Community summit is held there," he said, according to Aysor.am.
He noted that peace has now been established with Azerbaijan, Auroranews.am reports.
"For two years now, no one has been harmed due to exchanges of fire with Azerbaijan. These are unprecedented years since our independence. We are now working closely with Azerbaijan to strengthen and institutionalize peace between our two countries. This is the first time the President of Azerbaijan is participating in an event taking place in Armenia, albeit remotely," the Armenian prime minister said at the summit in Yerevan.
Turkey's vice president also visited Armenia, and Pashinyan stressed that he is the first vice president ever to arrive in the country.
